Artist of the Week: Illinois-based genre blending band Slap Bunt

Slap Bunt consists of singer/lead guitarist Blake Bisaillon (she/they), drummer Joe Kambic (he/him), bassist JJ Padovani (they/them), and rhythm guitarist Dan Pourroy (he/him). The band was originally formed over five years ago by childhood friends Blake and Joe. After gaining a few members and a couple shows under their belt, the band entered their most productive era to date. Mixing styles of punk, country, metal, and more, Slap Bunt takes each listener on a roller coaster of emotions.

Song of the Week: Pineapples in Paradise by Slap Bunt

Slap Bunt recently dropped their first single “Pineapples in Paradise,” a wild fusion of rock, punk, and metal. Seamlessly weaving between moments of soft rock and shouted vocals, tight beats and crazed instrumentals, this track is unpredictable in the best way. Brimming with untamed energy and dripping with distortion, “Pineapples in Paradise” is the perfect sample of what Slap Bunt has to offer.
