Pop punk/alternative band hailing from Tampa, FL, Up From Here, released their new EP Words Left Unsaid. The band consist of Danny Anderson (vocals and guitar), Tyler Houser (guitar), Bern Mustian (bass and vocals), and Alex Boeving (drums). The band is influenced by bands like All Time Low, A Day To Remember, I the Mighty, Mayday Parade, and similar bands. This past summer, the band had the opportunity to play on the Full Sail stage at Vans Warped Tour. They have toured with some big names in the alternative scene, such as Set It Off, Ice Nine Kills, Johnny Craig, Blood On The Dance Floor, Famous Last Words, and I See Stars. The band is growing and I see them having their own headlining show in the near future. The band has two demos and one other EP, Better Ways To Escape. This new EP was produced by Rian Dawson of All Time Low. From the sounds of it, this band is doing great and is going far in their music. I cannot wait to hear more and see how far they go.

From previous music, I expected great things on this album.

Since this EP has seven songs, I will go track by track. The EP starts out with "Last Night". The album wastes absolutely no time getting into the pop punk rhythm. Right away we have the classic pop punk drums kicking the album off into what is bound to be a killer song and album. "Last Night" makes me just want to get up and dance, jump, and/or run around. It has classic pop punk vibes to it, something that I can see everything just going wild to at a show. The chorus is pretty catchy as well, making me learn the song quickly and making it stick in my head. I actually enjoy this song quite a lot and I think opening the album with it was a perfect choice. It sets the tone of what to expect throughout the rest of the album.

"Make It Alright" also just jumps right into it. It's another classic pop punk vibe. I don't think its as danceable as "Last Night", but I can still bop to it. I like the repetitive nature of the lyrics and instrumentals. Its something that keeps me in the song since I can guess the instrumentals and air drum along. I can also sing along easily. I enjoy this song as well.

"No Excuses Just Reason" is the next song. It's a slower song, it's not as much of a fast-paced, pop punk song, but it's still good. It's something I can bop along to and sing in my room at the top of my lungs. What I like about these songs so far is that they waste no time in. This song starts out with nice guitar and drums and kicks off right into the singing and a solo guitar playing. It's a song that sticks out thus far because of it more relaxed vibes. I'm loving it. It's still pop punk, but also relaxed.

Previously released was "Another Weakness". I knew this song prior to the albums release since it was a single. It's the song that made me want to review the album and give this band a listen. It's really catchy and a bop. I just want to dance along. From this song alone, I can see why Up From Here won the opportunity to play on Warped Tour. It's pop punk at its finest and I am in love.

"Now That You're Gone (Fingerprints)" might be one of my favorites, next to "Another Weakness". It's an acoustic song, and my pop punk loving soul is a sucker for acoustic songs. I adore when albums are pop punk throughout, but throw in one beautiful acoustic song. The band initially started as an acoustic duo and I'm glad that they're still making acoustic songs. The song is slow and beautiful. There seems to be more emotion behind this song, almost bringing me to tears. Why? I'm not sure.I don't know what this song is about, but from the sounds of it, it's something important and emotional to the band. I absolutely love it!

"Breaking" picks the pace back up, starting in with the drums and guitar immediately. The last song was slow and beautiful, then this song just kicks you right back into dancing and living up to the pop punk style. One thing I haven't mentioned is how smooth the vocals seem to me. I talk about the killer drums and guitar a bit, but the vocals just pull all the songs together. Danny has perfect vocals for a pop punk band. This song continues to display the talents of this awesome band, and how those talents landed them a spot on Warped Tour.

Here we are, at the end of the EP, much to my dismay. "Gone Too Far" closes out the EP with a bang, quite literally. The song ends with a mini drum solo from Alex and a final note from Danny. Pulling out another banger at the end, the band has sold me on this EP and their band. One of my favorite things about this song is the singling out of the vocals around a minute into the song. The instruments seem to quiet themselves , to draw importance on what is being said. I love it. It does it again around two minutes in. It just makes what's being said seem more important and makes you pay attention.

Overall, this EP has made me a fan of Up From Here. I can definitely see the influences of the likes of All Time Low and Mayday Parade. Though, I can also hear their own sound, which is awesome. I will be adding Words Left Unsaid to my main playlist and will tell my friends about this band. I hope to see them in Chicago in the future. I see them going really far if they keep this up. I recommend giving this awesome band a listen!
