Reals Friends' "Me First" Video

Real Friends released a new video for their song "Me First" off their latest album Composure which was released back in July. The album is spectacular, it's the album that made me realize I've been missing out on this incredible band. The band consists of Brian Blake (drums), Kyle Fasel (bass), Dave Knox (guitar, backing vocals), Dan Lambton (lead vocals), and Eric Haines (guitar). The band formed in 2010 and formed in Tinley Park. This band is close to home for me, so it is quite neat to see them thrive coming from my area.

Anyways, on Halloween, the band released a seasonally appropriate video. The video follows around this murderous woman who is going around killing the members of Real Friends, who seem to be her butlers of some sort. Why is she killing them? I don't have the slightest clue. All I know is that this video is extremely delightful. Yeah, sure, Real Friends are being murdered, but the video is full of quirky bits, my personal favorite being the comic style bubbles with classic things like "ouch", "pow", "chop", etc. I think the video is very well done and put together. I love how the band has fun and just does what they want. It's not a video that aligns with the song, it's more of a video that aligns with the bubbly and quirky personalities of the band. While the video may not make much sense with the song, it doesn't matter much. It's a video I'm happy to see 20 times in a row. The song just makes it better. Which, if you haven't heard "Me First" yet, listen to it! The song is incredibly catchy and fun to sing along to. I found comfort in the song over the summer. I would lowkey sing this song to people who would always makes me a second or third option. I don't think they caught on, but it's okay. I love this song because it continues to show off Lambton's incredible vocals. The drums are upbeat and the overall beat is something fun to jump along to. I adore this song and video. And with Halloween being my favorite holiday, this video was a real treat to end the spooky season.

If you haven't already, you should listen to Real Friends' new album Composure, it is an incredible album and I think you'll love it. If at all possible, catch these boys on tour, they always put on an amazing show! I will be at the Chicago show and I couldn't be more excited!
