Antillion is a Chicago-hailing post-hardcore band, composed of Robert Boehm on drums, Michael Gallucci on vocals, Bobby Maszka and Noemi Morquecho on guitar, and Alan Tiemann on bass. The band’s sound, and especially that of their newest single "Maybe It’s Cruel," fuses the massive, heavy-hitting onslaught of hardcore with the technicalities and musicality of post-rock.
The track features many different sections, including clean verses, a chorus with an absolute wall of guitars, and multiple breakdowns that are perfect for getting a mosh pit going. The song is only five minutes, but it feels like it’s so much more full and complete than that time could allow. The way the different sounds and sections of the track weave into each other shows that this group
knows what they’re doing when it comes
to post-hardcore.
