Artist of the Week: Chicago-based indie/alternative band Choose Your Character

Choose Your Character leads their indie alternative sound with math rock style guitar. Following the release of their debut EP Challenger Approaching, the band added a permanent drummer and second guitar/vocalist, rounding out the 5 piece band. In their indie rock structures, the band notes influence from artists like The Strokes, John Mayer, and Arctic Monkeys. Choose Your Character has played many shows in Chicago, gracing the stages of venues like Uncommon Ground, Montrose Saloon, and Cubby Bear. 

Song of the Week: “Player 2” by Choose Your Character

Choose Your Character’s latest single “Player 2” is a light, catchy track. With melodic guitar and breezy vocal harmonies, the song meanders thoughtfully before introducing a soft, jazzy guitar solo. The bridge expels this track’s emotional peak, bursting with impassioned indie rock vocals and steady drums/guitar.
