Gorilla Tuesday is an indie rock band from Chicago, composed of songwriter Jimmy Brown, guitarist Matt Shack, bassist Steve Trifilio, and drummer Gabe Madson. The band’s sound combines various indie influences into an acoustic-driven sound. The band’s debut EP, Sorry I Dropped Your Fortune Cookie, was released on March 21, 2024. The EP uses themes of self-frustration, playful romances, and summer vibes.
The lead single, “Beaubien,” encapsulates this energy perfectly, with the acoustic chords giving it the feeling of belonging in a summer camp. The electrifying solo and intimate vocals give the song a great, unique energy. There are also plenty of tight grooves on the project, such as the lead guitar rhythm in “Fencewalking.”
