Midwestern indie rock artist Lunchbox Rachel dropped her new single “Amoeba” yesterday, March 28th, 2024. With the sound and spirit of pioneering female-led bands like Blondie and The Runaways, Rachel’s punk-like attitude and voice lend an edgy sophistication that makes her a true original. “Amoeba” teems with loud, electrifying energy, detailing an innocent crush turned dangerous obsession.

The track kicks off with driving guitar and bass before Rachel’s powerful, emphatic vocals take control, illustrating a spiral into all-consuming infatuation. The lyric “Once I have you/I can love me too” encapsulates this experience. The chorus is catchy and fun to sing along with, easily getting stuck in your head after a couple listens. With authentic lyricism, imposing vocals, and a dynamic rock sound, “Amoeba” is altogether candid and vibrant.
