Wisconsin-based psych rockers Mossmen have self-produced and released their first full length album Sunstream. The album is a collection of long form songs inspired by the spirit and rhythm of nature. The band’s influences and kindred spirits include bands like Black Sabbath, Grateful Dead, and 70s Pink Floyd. Woven with swirling guitar, layered echoes, and powerful riffs, Sunstream is a captivating ode to nature’s ebbs and flows.
The album’s title track gently wades listeners in before building to a storm of driving drums and spanning guitar riffs.”Wave” crashes in with dark, groovy riffs and lively vocals. “New Ruins” closes out the album with shimmering guitar tones and hypnotizing rhythms, fusing a collective energy from each song that climbs to a huge peak. Sunstream is a gorgeous, fascinating journey, inviting listeners to get lost in its landscape.
