Artist of the Week: Chicago-based emo band Pulitzer Priceless
Combining elements of shoegaze, pop punk, post-hardcore, and math rock with honest and confessional storytelling, Pulitzer Priceless emphasizes collaboration in their music. By making space for each member’s musical influences, the band creates songs that feel familiar but also challenge genre conventions. Pulitzer began playing shows in Chicago’s DIY scene in 2023 before releasing their debut single “Quarter Pound Credit Score.” You can find the band starting the pit at local shows, writing new music, and generally supporting Chicago’s local music scene. They aim to put on energetic and emotion-packed shows where all are welcome.
Song of the Week: Quarter Pound Credit Score by Pulitzer Priceless
With twinkly guitar riffs, hard-hitting bass lines, catchy vocals, precise drumming, and melodic rhythm guitar, “Quarter Pound Credit Score” gives listeners a good idea of what’s to come from the band’s upcoming debut EP. This is a no stops, high energy track that’s sure to get crowds on their feet. With their ability to mold top alternative genres into a fresh sound, Pulitzer Priceless will continue making their mark on the Chicago music scene and beyond.
