South Bend singer-songwriter Queer Father released their newest single, Dear John, on April 19th, 2024. The track is a personal, raw, and emotional analysis of a breakup that Queer Father actually went through. The track features a blend of piano, a simple yet groovy drum beat, backing vocals, a soft Beatles-esque synth, and the lead vocals lamenting this person and their descent.
The instruments and vocals feel lo-fi and homemade, which perfectly brings out the raw emotion of the song. The track could easily belong in a playlist of other sad jams, and would be perfectly at home in a 3 a.m. cry session.
