The XCERTS "Learning How To Live And Let Go" Album Review

Written by Demi Marshall

Distorted pop trio The XCERTS released their latest album Learning How To Live And Let Go on August 18th via UNFD. The band’s fifth studio album to date marks the long-awaited return of this Scottish three-piece. Evolving their pop rock sound to a more production heavy output, the album’s single releases “GIMME” and “Ache” (featuring Sam Carter) were bold, punchy, and well-received. Learning How To Live And Let Go is vibrant, danceable, and catchy– the perfect sendoff to your summer.

Tracks like “Car Crash Culture,” “Lovesick,” and “Blame” are bursting with bright energy to get up and dance to. Layered with pop/rock vocals and synthy beats, each song is full and larger than life. On “Everything I Cannot Live Without,” “Inhale (Her),” and “My Friends Forever,” the slower tempo lends a sincere, reflective tone in the same lively pop style, leaving the album feeling cohesive and whole. The XCERTS coin a bubbly, upbeat rock/pop sound that’s sure to freshen up your favorite playlist.
